Role

We are launching a new service in partnership with Catalyst Vineyard to respond to the expressed needs of homeless and vulnerable people in Aberdeen & Aberdeenshire. Along with our Director of Crisis Intervention and Catalyst Vineyard’s Transform Team, the Pioneer & Intervention Worker will oversee this service, build relationships face-to-face and help people work towards their goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Scoping out and building relationships through Catalyst Vineyard’s services, such as Open Doors and Community Pantries.
  • Working alongside volunteers at various sites to help identify and meet immediate need and reduce suffering of attendees, and liaising with other agencies to find solutions for people attending each session.
  • Ensuring all volunteer paperwork is kept up-to-date and data input to our volunteer management system. This includes entering data from reports in order to facilitate the smooth running of the service and to enable monitoring and evaluation to take place.
  • Setting up and running a volunteer engagement group in order to share reports, answer questions and receive input from the group.

At Bethany we are committed to helping our employees flourish personally and professionally. Bethany provides 30 days of annual leave initially to all contracted staff, rising to a maximum of 40 days depending on length of service. We also provide enhanced payments for maternity, paternity, and adoption. Bethany also provides a company pension scheme and a death in service benefit scheme.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation, this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with the Equality Act 2010. Please note that one reference must be from your church minister or leader to endorse your live and active Christian faith and commitment.
