About the Role
SAMH Redhall is a mental health recovery project based in a walled garden in South-West Edinburgh. We have a wonderful location in a wooded dell by the Water of Leith and indoor and outdoor facilities including polytunnels, vegetable beds, ornamental gardens, orchard, kitchen, library and training room.
The Instructor Team at Redhall provide a supportive environment to learn and practice skills in horticulture. The service has structured days and encourages people to build routine, be more active, spend time outdoors and work alongside others. Our Peer Worker and Employability Practitioner offer additional support for people to better manage their mental health, develop confidence and progress their goals.
The garden is open to the public during the week and also plays host to local partner projects who might arrange their own activities in the grounds. We also organise open days to sell plants, promote the service and raise awareness.
The Team Leader will be responsible for the day to day delivery of effective social and therapeutic horticulture activities at SAMH Redhall, creating a positive and purposeful environment for staff, service users and wider community.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a track record of managing the delivery of programmes in health, greenspace and/or community settings. You will have the skills to undertake all aspects of managing the project day to day from the ground up - overseeing site/garden maintenance, developing programmes, managing staff and ensuring quality of support.
You have an understanding of partnership working and can identify and develop opportunities for joint working, coordinate and communicate with colleagues across the third sector and make reports to funders as required.
You have leadership experience and can confidently bring a team together with a strong sense of purpose and commitment to SAMH values. You are someone who wants to work with people with the ability to build rapport, show genuine interest in their recovery and handle difficult conversations with compassion. You will be enthusiastic about the benefits of gardening and nature-based approaches to support mental health and coming to work in a garden everyday will be a perk of the job for you too!

About the Role
SAMH aims to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people and the adults around them, through a range of mental health targeted supports, as well as capacity building work, information and other resources.
We are entering a new and exciting phase in our Children and Young People offering and seek an experienced Service Manager to support our projects and staff.
Working alongside the Children and Young People Development Manager the Service Manager will ensure the smooth delivery of our projects, consolidating and developing systems, structures and practice, to ensure the best outcomes for those we support and engage with.
They will manage a staff team of practitioners supporting a range of projects across Scottish localities.
The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and experience of children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, and have worked with schools, youth groups, health including CAMHS.
The service manager will have excellent people, leadership and communication skills, with experience in staff management, service development and young person-centred support work. They will have an understanding of the challenges that children, young people and their families’ experience, which impacts on mental health and wellbeing, along with the barriers they face getting the support that they require.
With experience in project funding, contracts and partnership working they will work alongside SAMH colleagues, funders, local authorities, health boards and other partners to support and review existing projects and delivery models, along with the development of new and innovative approaches, in line with our strategy in supporting children and young people’s mental health.
A full drivers licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of People Living with Dementia in Midlothian?
We are looking for a unique person to join our team at our dementia specific day service in Bonnyrigg. Our day services are personalised to the preferences and needs of individuals, providing therapeutic activities with a focus on maintaining skills and independence. The day services in Bonnyrigg are open Monday to Friday.
Our Support Workers are our most important people as they provide front line support. Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. Supporting individuals to keep connected to their communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support.
The use of a car is preferred (mileage and expenses are paid).
A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) and registration with the SSSC is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
An exciting position has become available for a Senior Community Link Worker based in our established service in West Lothian.
You will support the service manager and fellow senior in the day to day running of 2 mental health and well-being hubs, based in Bathgate and Livingston. The hubs currently operate Monday-Friday 9-5.
You will be based in one of the Hubs leading a small team of Link Workers and working positively as part of a small MDT including psychology, occupational therapy and mental health nurses.
You will also deliver and support staff to deliver psycho educational groups.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Counselling Support Worker to join our team, deliver one to one support to women affected by sexual violence as part of our Support Service. Applicants should be fully committed to providing a single sex, women only service in line with the Values and Ethos of the organisation.
This is a full time post (35 hours per week) and will be based in Edinburgh City Centre. This post is not eligible for remote working, and you must be able to work Fridays. We may consider job share.
