Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, empathic person to join Change Mental Health and help us continue to deliver excellent mental health services across Angus.

Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing incredible person-centred support across the nation.

We want you to join us in one of the best places to work, where your views and experience will help develop and deliver services that people want.

This Carer Support Worker post will join our Tayside Team and expand our support to Carers of people with Mental Health needs across Perth and Kinross. Together we will continue to support Carers in identifying their personal priorities and outcomes. We promote support through 1 to 1 contact, small groups and help to access support and services in the Carer's community.

Carer Support Workers help Carers to feel connected to their loved ones and community, working towards aspirations and goals that they set themselves; that help them live life well.

We build links with partner organisations across Tayside, helping break down barriers and develop services that people want and need.

This post will report directly to the Area Manager for Change Mental Health Tayside and Fife Services.

Why work with us?

Change Mental Health is a leading national mental health charity providing unique support to people with severe and enduring mental ill health. With 50 years’ experience across Scotland, we believe people affected by poor mental health and illness deserve the highest quality of support in the community and that every person has the right to be valued and to share in the opportunities, challenges, and joys of everyday life.

Our person-centred approach puts the people we work with at the heart of what we do ensuring they have greater opportunity, can build confidence and social skills, and become more integrated into their communities. By building connections and support around individual needs, our team of nearly 200 staff and 800 members value the lived experience which informs the services we deliver. We look beyond illness by taking a holistic approach that ensures no one has to face mental ill health alone.

We welcome and encourage job applications from people of all backgrounds and value the unique experience that each person brings to our organisation.

We value lived mental health experience and welcome applications from people with this experience or experience supporting others with their mental health.

We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion within our workforce, and to building a team made up of diverse skills, and all kinds of life experiences.
