You will be responsible for maintaining a quiet, calm and supportive environment for participants to complete their homework. You will also facilitate issue-based activities and school holiday activities for young people aged 11+. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working and/or volunteering with secondary school aged children in a community based/educational and/or youth work setting. You will have a good understanding of child protection procedures and the barriers faced by individuals in the asylum process in relation to education and attainment. You will be confident in organising learning-based activities including sourcing relevant educational materials. You will have a high level of interpersonal skills, enabling you to support a diverse group of young people. You will have the skills to be able to manage a varied workload, working independently and as part of a team.

This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant, dedicated team working in a diverse community.

Govan Community Project is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person they are. We warmly welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, with the right skills for the role and would particularly welcome applications from individuals from the refugee community.
