Role

GCP are a local charity based in the Govan, working with individuals and families in the asylum and refugee community and we are looking for a part time helpline assistant to join our Advice and Advocacy Team. The position available is half of a job-share position.

You will be the first point of contact for community members calling our advice helpline. You will provide a telephone based triage support, exploring immediate needs of individual callers, including organising interpreters where required, processing new referral information into our advice CRM, processing internal referrals to other GCP services, including the casework team and signposting external to agencies/partners.

Working hours will be spread over 1 and a half days and you will be required to be available on Thursday mornings, until 1.30 pm.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of providing high-quality telephone based assistance, and be accustomed to supporting individuals remotely with low and variable levels of English.

This is a great opportunity to join a vibrant, dedicated team working in a diverse community.

Govan Community Project is wholly committed to inclusion and diversity and to building a culture and environment where everyone is appreciated for the unique person they are. We warmly welcome applications from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences and would particularly welcome applications from individuals from the refugee community.
