Do you have a background in Fundraising, Philanthropy or Major Gifts and a passion for museums and galleries? Are seeking a new, exciting opportunity?
If you are motivated to share our vision to have a positive impact on the world then we are keen to hear from you…..
The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for six centuries, and today we are one of the world's top 100 universities. Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers. At the heart of the University since 1807, The Hunterian connects people with stories, individuals and ideas found in stunning collections of objects, belongings and artworks.
A great opportunity has arisen for a Strategic Philanthropy Manager to join the University’s Development and Alumni team to raise funds for The Hunterian, Scotland’s oldest public museum.
In the next decade, the University of Glasgow aims to be synonymous with discoveries, innovations and leadership of global importance; a university characterised by the closeness of our community, the strength of our connections and the incredible potential unleashed by our collaborative spirit. The Hunterian is a space for questioning and experimentation, for enjoyment and enrichment, for connection and collaboration, and for reflecting on the role museums and individuals can play in furthering equity, justice and diversity in our society.
The role of Strategic Philanthropy Manager (Hunterian) will be vital to realising that vision.
We are seeking someone with shared purpose, shared values and the desire to make a difference, who will harness the power of the University’s worldwide community to develop an ambitious and sustainable fundraising programme for The Hunterian.
You will possess exceptional relationship management skills, experience of working with high-net-worth individuals and have a demonstrable track record in achieving financial targets. We also welcome applications from people with relevant transferable skills who can demonstrate knowledge of philanthropy and a belief in the power of universities, collections and their stories to change the world.
Some international travel is anticipated.
This post is full time (35 hours per week) and open ended (permanent). Relocation assistance will be provided where appropriate.
