Who we are

Alcohol Focus Scotland (AFS) is Scotland’s national alcohol charity, committed to preventing and reducing harm to individuals, families, communities and Scotland as a whole.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a skilled communications professional to join our passionate team to provide maternity cover. You will have a varied and challenging role, providing communications and information support across a number of policy areas, including minimum unit pricing, building support for alcohol marketing restrictions, and increasing understanding of the commercial determinants of health. Your excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills will be vital in ensuring we meet our goal of effecting policy change in Scotland, to reduce alcohol harm and improve lives.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced policy and communications environment
  • Experience of implementing communications strategies and public affairs activities including producing campaign content for a range of audiences.
  • Experience of producing content for print, broadcast and social media.
  • Experience of working collaboratively and strategically with internal and external colleagues to influence opinion and change.
