We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, feminist woman to work as part of an enthusiastic and resolute domestic abuse team. The role will involve delivering specialist, sensitive, trauma-informed, proactive short to medium-term support to women who are at high risk of harm.
This will involve safety planning, refuge and follow-on, housing, legal support, and court advocacy and could include therapeutic well-being work on a one-to-one basis and in group sessions.
You must be highly organised, and proactive, and work using a gendered analysis of domestic abuse. It is also desirable that you drive and have a qualification that allows you to register as a support worker under ‘Housing Support’ with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
The post is part-time, and the successful candidate will be required to work 28 hrs per week in a flexible manner that allows for seamless service provision and meets the needs of a small voluntary organisation.
The salary for this post is £32,405 to £35,250 per annum, pro rata, inclusive of the Distant Islands Allowance.
This post is a fixed term for 2 years but is core to our service provision so ongoing funding will continually be sought.
Women only need to apply under Schedule 9 (Part 1) of the Equality Act 2010.
To receive details of the post and how to apply please telephone 01595 692070 or e-mail office@shetlandwa.org.
The closing date for applications is 5th January 2024.
