Role

About Aberlour Options Fife Residential Glenrothes (McNally House)

We are home to 3 young people aged between 15 and 21 years of age. We support our young people to live their best lives! We listen to them and understand what our young people want and need and help them in their daily lives. We work with our young people to create goals and support them to achieve these – no matter how big or small, nothing is impossible! “I love that McNally adults believe the young people can do anything” (quote from Aberlour Adult)

All our activities are tailored around our likes and dislikes of our young people, however this doesn’t mean that we don’t have fun too! “I love Mr Tumble disco on a Friday night…Weekends are such good fun!” (quote from Aberlour Adult).

Most importantly…. We LOVE our young people!

What can a day look like for us….

Our young people are at the heart of everything we do, and our young people want to tell you what a day looks like for them:

Adults help me to get up, washed and dressed in the morning. I am then given the choice of either my iPad or breakfast – it depends how I feel that day. Scrammed egg on toast with tomato sauce is my favourite breakfast and I also like a nice cup of tea.

During the day adults support me to attend different groups for example the nourish group, wheelchair line dancing, swimming, picnic at the park.

In my free time I enjoy arts and crafts, sensory play, and spending time in our new sensory room. My family are important to me, and I spend every other weekend with them. My favourite food is strawberries. My favourite film is Wizard of Oz. I like funny people because I have a great sense of humour and an infectious laugh. I love my bed and having a story read to me at night.

If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for Young People’s Workers, to work 37.5 hours per week.
