MCR Pathways is a national award-winning charity dedicated to addressing the long-standing inequality in education outcomes, career opportunities and life chances for young people in care and those on the edge of care and in need. Our in-school mentoring has proven to have profound impacts on young people; boosting their confidence, improving wellbeing and encouraging achievement and post-school progression. At present MCR mentors make and experience a life changing difference to over 5,000 young people from across the country.

We are looking for a Programme Development Team Lead to support the practice and development of the MCR programme across the Central Belt of Scotland. The role is a highly important one to build and maintain the confidence of the MCR frontline staff. Training and motivation skills are essential as is command of detail and empathy with the MCR cause and young people.

Our in-school mentoring has profound impacts on mentees in their confidence, wellbeing, achievement and post-school progression. MCR Mentors are volunteers who make and experience a life changing difference. The MCR frontline teams are essential to the success and your job will be to ensure they have all the tools, understanding and support needed.

You will play a key role in the development of MCR overall, the implementation and evaluation of programme content, and the hands on training of school based staff. The role is diverse and challenging with highly effective relationship building and communication skills essential.

A clean driving licence and access to a car are essential for this role. Applications are welcome from anyone who lives in the Central Belt of Scotland as the role will be hybrid with some meetings in our Glasgow Office and visits to schools on the MCR Programme.
