Role

The Commission protects and promotes the human rights of people with mental illness, learning disabilities, dementia, and related conditions.

People who work at the Commission play a vital role in promoting rights and welfare of some of Scotland’s most vulnerable people. It’s challenging and rewarding work that relies on excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our professional and multi-disciplinary team. This role is part of a small Finance team that will respond flexibly and efficiently to the growing demands of the Commission.

The post-holder will be responsible for a full and varied range of Finance tasks which contribute to the fulfilment of the Commission’s duty to monitor the operation of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 and the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000.

The post-holder will ensure that Finance processes are managed and completed in accordance with set deadlines to support accurate performance reporting in line with corporate objectives.

The ideal candidate must be educated to Scottish higher (or equivalent) level and also have a relevant degree or equivalent experience. They should have extensive experience of working within a small Finance team and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
