An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead and manage our Mission Support team which equips, inspires, resources and supports the Church locally with congregations and Presbyteries as well as nationally to realise their expressions of mission.
As a senior member of the Faith Action Staff team, you will provide strategic leadership for the newly formed Mission Support Team, encompassing the work of Priority Areas, Congregational Engagement and Mission Development. Together with the governance group (the Mission Support Programme Group) for this area of work, you will be responsible for the development of future planning.
In addition to this central management role you will also hold primary responsibility for the national Church’s work with Priority Areas – the 64 congregations across Scotland which are in communities where deprivation rates fall within the bottom 5% across all of the social and economic indicators.
With an understanding and knowledge of the Church of Scotland and its current challenges, you will bring your experience, understanding and vision for the work to enthuse and inspire others and encourage mission in the wider context.
An excellent communicator, you will work collaboratively and demonstrate strong leadership skills ensuring the timely delivery of key areas of work within diverse teams. Experience of managing and understanding budgets will also be required.
This post carries a Genuine Occupational Requirement in terms of the Equality Act 2010. You will be a committed Christian with a live Church connection.
Closing date: 12 noon on Tuesday, 31 October 2023
