MELD is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our recovery team. We are recruiting people who are committed to providing services for individuals with substance use issues, who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team and in partnership with statutory services.
The Injection Equipment Provision/Outreach Worker will offer Needle Exchange and Harm Reduction services to clients in Midlothian and East Lothian. This service will be offered from fixed sites and on an outreach basis in partnership with a range of NHS services including the promotion of access to BBV (Blood Borne Virus) services. The role will include training for, and distribution of, Naloxone to individuals and groups. An appropriate qualification (SVQ level 3 or above) in Health or any of the Social Sciences with at least 1 years’ demonstrable experience of working in a recovery setting with clients who have difficulties with substance use are essential criteria. Applicants will require an ability to work in a flexible manner and adhere to a recovery focussed approach. A full driving licence and own transport are essential.
