  • Closing 6th September 2021

  • Advertised from 11th August 2021

Role

Are you a confident and experienced policy and public affairs professional looking for an exciting new role?

If you have strong policy development and influencing skills and an understanding of Scotland's parliamentary and legislative process, we'd love to hear from you.

The appointee will work closely with three other Policy & Public Affairs Officers and the Policy & Public Affairs Manager in responding to, and advocating for, policy developments that will create a fair and sustainable operating environment for the voluntary sector in Scotland.

It's a small team with a big remit, so we're looking for someone who can manage a diverse and demanding workload, plan and oversee multiple projects, and adapt to the changing priorities of the wider team.

If you have the skills and experience needed for the job and can demonstrate the desire to build a strong grasp of the key policy challenges facing Scottish voluntary organisations, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Location: SCVO staff are currently working from home. When our offices reopen this role could be based in any of our Glasgow, Edinburgh or Inverness offices, with the option to work from home for some of the working week.

The Policy & Public Affairs Officer will produce concise, clear, well-structured policy positions, and build credible relationships with civil servants, MSPs, and colleagues across the voluntary sector.
