Role

Glenkens Community & Arts Trust Ltd (“GCAT”, web site: gcat.scot) seeks to appoint an exceptional candidate to the position of Executive Manager.

This is a new role and an excellent opportunity to lead GCAT through the next phase of its development and in addition to promote and play a leadership role in stimulating projects in the Glenkens & District Community Action Plan (“CAP”).

If you are adaptable, creative, a strategic thinker, business-minded, skilled at prioritising and have a passion for the arts and enriching the lives of people in our communities with the broader skills to lead an organisation, we would like to hear from you.

You will engage your outstanding leadership skills and adopt a culture of openness, trust and delegation.

This is a stimulating opportunity for a proven, highly skilled and effective leader to take forward our organisation, building upon the recognition achieved to date and to take a leadership role in the Glenkens & District Community Action Plan.

This is not a nine to five role, and with a wide range of skills in your toolkit, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience: -

  • An understanding of sustainable business operations.
  • Experience in leading multi-disciplinary and high performing teams, including volunteers.
  • You will be a confident communicator, a great listener, an accomplished decision-maker and a natural collaborator with strong coaching and motivational skills.
  • You will be great at building relationships across a broad spectrum both internally and externally, with community and commercial partners, stakeholders and consultants.
  • You will balance delegation vs taking ownership whilst having a strong focus on the organisation’s values and objectives.
  • you will be resilient, reflective, with a positive and calm manner, with excellent organisational and IT skills.
  • Valid full UK Driving Licence

Reporting to the Chair and Board of Trustees of GCAT, the Executive Manager is responsible for delivering GCAT's strategic aims by providing inclusive social, artistic and creative activities, experiences and opportunities in which people of all ages can live, work and grow and developing and growing the organisation, both in terms of its impact and financial strengths. In addition, the individual will play a key leadership role in the Glenkens & District Community Action Plan.
