Role
Are you good at working with people in crisis, do you have experience of providing one to one support if you do then our Duty worker role could be for you. WASLER have a 35 hours a week and a 22.5 hours a week post funded until September 2021 (with the possibility of being extended beyond this) and are looking for candidates with an understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women, children and young people who is able to listen to women and identify the support they need over the telephone and work with them to address these needs including advocating on their behalf.
As an Outreach Crisis and Duty Support Worker you will provide a confidential, safe and supportive information service to women and agencies who contact Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire & East Renfrewshire (WASLER) through our crisis phone line and/or ‘drop in’ service.
The job involves ensuring that a high standard of crisis intervention is provided to women escaping, experiencing or requiring support with domestic abuse issues. This includes WASLER’s out-of-hours on call service provision.

Finance & Business Systems Officer

We are looking to recruit an experienced Finance & Business Systems Officer (35 hours but would consider 28/30 hours). The ideal candidate will have experience of financial processing including budget preparation, processing income and expenditure, issuing invoices, reconciling bank account, preparing monthly and quarterly finance reports and working with restricted and unrestricted funds.
The role is varied and fast paced. The successful candidate will therefore have to be able to prioritise tasks and manage competing priorities as well as a methodical and well-organised approach to workload. Attention to detail is essential. This is a stand alone position reporting directly to the HR & Business Support Manager. However you must be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.
A relevant professional qualification in an accountancy discipline is required along with at least 2 years experience working within a financial setting. The ideal candidate must be competent in the use of SAGE.
All candidates must demonstrate knowledge/experience of the causes and issues relating to domestic abuse and the ability to advocate Women’s Aid South Lanarkshire and East Renfrewshire’s feminist philosophy and mission which underpins all our work.

Duty/Crisis Support Worker (two vacancies)

The role of the Duty/Crisis Service Support Worker is to provide a confidential, safe and supportive information service to women and agencies who contact EWA through the crisis phone line and/or ‘drop in’ service. Where safety issues are assessed, the worker will ensure the completion of the Risk Identification checklist and an individualised support and safety plan. Where appropriate the worker will assess women, and any accompanying children who are affected by domestic abuse, for refuge accommodation. This role is based at EWA offices 4 Cheyne St Edinburgh EH4 1JB.
Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit two full-time support workers to join our Women’s Support Team.
As a service, we are expanding our capacity to better meet the needs of women who have experienced domestic abuse. Candidates should have good communication skills and a passion for supporting recovery from domestic abuse.
The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in health and social care or other relevant subject, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work on their own as well as part of a team. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
