We are recruiting Family Support and Engagement Workers to join our 3,000 strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers. You will play a vital part in making a difference to Glasgow’s economy and profile, to local communities, and to the people who live, work, visit and play in the city. As Family Support and Engagement Worker you will be part of the Learning Team, providing access to a range of early intervention and family learning programmes within a primary school setting. You will encourage literacy, numeracy, health & wellbeing and support the teaching and Family Learning taking place within the school and its associated Curriculum for Excellence experiences and outcomes.

The following positions are available:

St Cuthbert's Primary School, full time and 52 weeks per year

Riverside Primary School, full time and term time (39 weeks per year)

St Thomas Primary School, part time 21 hours and term time (39 weeks per year)

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:

• Reading, literacy and language development.

• Knowledge and understanding of play based learning activities.

• Provision of parenting information, advice and support.

• Ability to provide practical and emotional support to families.

• Experience in delivery of early intervention and learning programmes with children and families.

This post is a result of funding from the Pupil Equity Fund and is temporary for up to 12 months.
