What you need to know

Hours: 35 per week.

Contract type:Permanent

Location:Hybrid. You will spend part of your week at home, and part of your week in our head office in Merchant City which has great access to public transport and discounted paid parking nearby.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Development Officer (Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion) you’ll be a part of an established team, reporting to the Policy, Research and Information Manager. You’ll play an essential role in supporting Glasgow Life to implement its Corporate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, drive equalities mainstreaming and help the organisation to meet its Public Sector Equality Duties. Your work will make a visible and lasting difference. This could be:

  • Supporting our communities
  • Helping people get active
  • Creating cultural experiences
  • Or working behind the scenes to make it all happen

Who you are

We’re looking for someone with the right skills who brings energy to the role. If the following sounds like you, apply today!

We’re looking for:

  • A strong track record of delivering impactful Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) programmes within the public or third sector.
  • A genuine commitment to EDI values, with clear examples of how you’ve put these into practice.
  • Confidence in engaging, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt your style for different audiences — from service users to elected members and senior leadership.
  • Practical knowledge of the Scottish Public Sector Equality Duty and experience applying it in your work.
  • A solid understanding of how EDI can drive inclusive organisational change, and experience of putting this into action.
