YouthLink Scotland is looking to appoint a Development Officer post to take responsibility for the project co-ordination of the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme in the lead up to, and beyond, the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in November 2021. This role will help to build climate awareness and literacy within the youth work sector in Scotland and is funded by Scottish Government as part of the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme.
This new post would suit a self-driven, natural collaborator with excellent organisation skills and the ability to co-ordinate a national project involving multiple partners and stakeholders. The candidate will be great at building effective relationships with people at all levels, both within our YouthLink Scotland member organisations, and with external stakeholders.
We are seeking someone who has an understanding of the youth work sector in Scotland and the role of young people and youth workers in tackling the climate crisis. The candidate should be an excellent communicator, with proficient skills and knowledge using online project management tools and have experience of using creative approaches to demonstrate the impact of projects to a diverse range of audiences.
This is a fixed term post for one year. The starting salary is £31,708. The company offers a 9.5% non-contributory pension scheme. The post will be part home-based and part based at the YouthLink Scotland offices in Edinburgh. The normal working week is 35 hours but we are open to consideration of part-time and/or flexible working patterns for the right candidate. By its nature, the post will sometimes require work to be undertaken during evenings and weekends. Annual holiday entitlement is 25 days plus 12 public holidays.
