The Service

Launched in 2020, WDP Greenwich is a fully-integrated substance misuse service, providing clinical and psychosocial interventions, operating from a main treatment hub in Woolwich. The team actively promotes recovery and works with individuals that are directly and indirectly affected by substance misuse, working with the local community to improve the health, wellbeing and functioning of Greenwich residents, irrespective of circumstance.

The Role

The Clinical Psychologist will be part of the Integrated Drug and Alcohol service that WDP provides in the London Borough of Greenwich.

Main duties:

• To provide a specialist clinical psychology service to service users and provide psychologically informed consultation, training and supervision for the team,

• To provide specialist psychological assessment and a range of psychological interventions both directly and through offering advice, training and consultation on service users’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other workers;

• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.

• Support WDP Greenwich in developing evidence based psychosocial interventions and contribute to the development of the groupwork programme.

• To support the team to develop, improve and evaluate effective services to enhance recovery outcomes and develop pathways into wider services such as mental health teams and social services.

• To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the team.

We are seeking committed, organised and highly-motivated candidates, with an in-depth knowledge and experience of the challenges affecting people with substance misuse and related health and wellbeing issues in the London Borough of Greenwich.

Conditions

• Salary band of £68,000-£75,000

• 22.5 hours per week

Location

The role is based at the WDP Greenwich, but at times may involve travel to external meetings and satellites within the borough, and to other WDP locations as needed.
