Do you have relevant experience of working with children and young people with a disability/and or autism or relevant experience in a similar sector or work environment?

Options Fife Glenrothes provides a range of flexible support through outreach and overnight short breaks at weekends, evenings and school holidays to children and young people with complex learning disabilities and autism. We offer a high-quality child centred service providing positive and enabling experiences for the young people, supporting them through the challenges and complexities that enable them to work towards their individual outcomes and personal goals. We work closely with families and other professionals in providing support tailored around the child’s plan.

What are we looking for?

Our Young People’s Workers play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people they work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on each young person's progress. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care to support the families in their daily living and within the local community. You will help arrange and take our young people on fun activities within the local community such as taking our young people in the minibus to the local swimming pool.

As part of the job role a driving license is essential.

We are looking to recruit to the following posts -

  • Young People’s Worker working an average of 28.25 hours per week. This is broken down by working in both our respite and outreach services.
    • Respite- 18 hours per week for 49 weeks of the year and 37.5 hours per week for 3 weeks of the year.
    • Outreach- 11 hours per week for 40 weeks of the year and 5 hours per week for 7 weeks of the year.
  • Young People’s Worker working an average of 22.23 hours per week. This is broken down by working in both our respite and outreach services.
    • Respite- 18.5 hours per week for 49 weeks of the year and 37.5 hours per week for 3 weeks of the year.
    • Outreach- 2.75 hours per week for 50 weeks of the year. This will be a 5.5 hour shift per fortnight.

Our Outreach Service operates mainly during midweek evenings and our Respite service is currently open Friday until Sunday.

We also have options for working on a relief basis.
