Our team in Galashiels is recruiting for an Access and Engagement Worker to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. This role will focus on access and engagement for people coming into the service. This is a part time role, working 20 hours per week from Monday to Thursday.

Our Access and Engagement Workers act as a first point of contact for our clients, to ensure that they are able to access appropriate services and treatment efficiently and promptly. You will work as part of a dedicated service team and work in close partnership with other health care professionals, partner agencies, service commissioners and clinical/mental health teams to ensure that those accessing our services receive prompt advice and treatment. You’ll be joining a team with clients at the forefront of everything they do, with the core aim of improving access to appropriate services for those who are needing our support.

This is an integral role for With You - as a frontline worker, you will deliver continuity of care through effective partnership working and a commitment to provide high levels of support. You will help to maintain an effective information service for clients, connecting quickly with the people we support and treating them respectfully and with dignity.

REQUIRED SKILLS

You will be a compassionate and motivated individual, with an exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships. We’re looking for demonstrable experience working within the health, social care, criminal justice or other specialist setting, ideally with those with substance misuse issues. A successful track record of providing efficient and reliable customer service is essential.

You will be highly organised, with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a team to ensure a high quality service is maintained. Above all, we are looking for someone who is passionate about what we do, with a positive and engaging approach to our clients and key stakeholders.

A driving licence is required for this role.

Funded by the Scottish Borders Council this post will work to promote and deliver a robust and dynamic mental health Peer Connecting Service within the Scottish Borders.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Support and Development Worker to join our Peer Connecting service. As a Support and Development Worker, you will work alongside the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Manager and the Borders Team to promote and deliver our mental health Peer Connecting services across the Scottish Borders.

Peer Connecting Facilitate Peer matches for people who want to improve or manage their mental health and wellbeing through the opportunity to spend time with a Peer volunteer. Our Peer volunteers guide their matches through tools and techniques to help people to make the changes they want to make. Peer volunteers draw on their own experience and Health in Mind training to achieve this.

Your role will be to provide flexible support to both people accessing the service and our Peer volunteers, delivering a Peer to Peer service for adults who experience mental health difficulties. You will explore both 1:1 and group work and facilitate a robust training program and groups for volunteers and people you are working with.

You will maintain positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders, key partners, and relevant professionals.

This is a community outreach post and travel is required across the Scottish Borders as part of the role. A good understanding of the locality and community is desirable.

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of People Living with Dementia in Midlothian?

We are looking for a unique individual who can provide person- centred support for those individuals living with dementia who attend our Day Care centre in Midlothian and Community Activity Groups.

Supporting individuals to keep connected to their communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support. Working during weekdays, the use of a car is essential (mileage and expenses are paid).

A flexible approach is essential, so you will have the ability and willingness to cover sessions in a planned way due to annual leave, training, or last minute cover.

Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) and registration with the SSSC is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.

Are you a creative and motivated individual with the passion and drive to support people with a recent diagnosis of dementia to live well in their community?

If so, you can be part of a National Team of Post Diagnostic Support Link Workers (PDS Link Workers) providing high quality, person centered support to people living with dementia and their families for a minimum of a year following diagnosis in line the Scottish Government’s minimum guarantee.

The aim of the PDS National Service is to enable people to live well with dementia and is centered around Alzheimer Scotland's 5 pillar model so that people move on to a period of supported self- management.

The model includes understanding the illness and coming to terms with the diagnosis, peer support, connecting and maintaining links with their community along with planning for future care and decision making to develop an outcome focused plan to support their future hopes, desires and aspirations.

Supporting our Dumfries and Galloway locality, the post will be based within the Community Mental Health Teams. Alzheimer Scotland’s PDS Link Workers are required to be effective team workers and have the skills to build and maintain relationships with colleagues both within Alzheimer Scotland, the NHS and other stakeholders.

Skills in using digital platforms are essential as we use a blended approach to support people that involve some virtual meetings and on-line groups.

Applicants must hold a recognised relevant professional qualification to a minimum of SVQ level 4, have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects people and their families along with excellent communication skills, a warm flexible approach, combined with skills in empathy and relationship building.

In addition, you should have skills and knowledge at the Enhanced Level of the Promoting Excellence Framework or be able to evidence you are working towards its completion.
