Would you like a fantastic new career in health and social care? Why not start your day hoping to make a difference
and end your day knowing you did.
Here at The Richmond Fellowship Scotland, we are looking to recruit a full-time post for the role of a National
Restraint Reduction Advisor. Though your base will be at home/TRFS Office, there is the requirement for regular
working throughout our TRFS services across Scotland. Travel and subsistence payments will be made.
The National Restraint Reduction Advisor will be a member of the Positive Behaviour Support Team (PBST) and will be
the organisational lead in restraint reduction, particularly in relation to people with complex needs.
The post holder will be a lead role in delivering the commitments of TRFS’s restraint reduction approaches, linking
closely with internal colleagues and a range of external stakeholders. All elements of the role will be rooted
in the context of Positive Behaviour Support and the values and behavioural technology associated with this
approach.
If you have experience of working with people with complex needs and a sound value base in respect of the rights of
people with disabilities, particularly those with restrictive practices in place, this could be the opportunity
for you.
You will spend time in services and with staff teams that are supporting individuals with behaviours of concern,
complex needs, and restrictive practices, to support services in developing, implementing, and monitoring
individual restraint reduction action plans.
You will lead in monitoring and reviewing progress, measuring against original objectives for restraint reduction,
including producing evaluation reports with graphic data.
A working knowledge of the legislative framework and practice guidance surrounding the use of restrictive practices
and previous experience of working with people with learning disabilities/autism and complex needs, are required
for this role.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a change in your life and in that of the people we support. The work can be
challenging, but as well as a competitive salary, enhanced pension contributions and annual leave, childcare
vouchers and discounts at over 850 online and high street retailers, we can offer you a rewarding and satisfying
role in your local community.
