Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost 100 years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

About the Role
SAMH has a well established reputation for delivering excellent support to people with mental health problems throughout Dundee. Our Care at Home service has a purpose built specialist supported accommodation project in the heart of the city. We are seeking outstanding and motivated people to deliver the service and provide support to people with enduring mental illnesses and complex needs to regain their independence and improve their self-resilience and self-management skills.
What we are looking for
The Senior Practitioner will play an important part in establishing ongoing relationships between staff and service users.
The Senior practitioner will:
- Provide direction and guidance to a team of Practitioners supporting individuals in the accommodation to improve their mental health and wellbeing.
- Work with service users to define their own action plans and coordinate, evaluate and review this support
- Provide practice supervision and mentorship to Practitioner staff within the team and highlight areas for development and training needs to Service Manager.
- Maintain the highest personal and professional standards. Work professionally and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues, those who use our services and members of the public and to meet the requirements of funders and regulators.
- Undertake personal responsibility for conduct and work ethic in line with SAMH Code of Conduct, the SSSC Codes of Practice and other relevant professional standards.
- Be responsible for the Co-ordination, assessments, monitoring and review for individuals using the service,
- Act as the key contact and develop positive relationships with individuals, families, multi-agency teams and communities.
As the post will involve a variety of shift patterns including evening, weekends, waking night shift and on-calls. You will be flexible in the hours and shifts you are available to work.
The successful candidate will ideally hold a SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or the willingness to undertake this.
You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and a mature attitude together with adaptability and enthusiasm. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with mental health problems is desirable as is experience working with people who have had long term hospital admissions. Whatever your background, a flexible caring approach combined with good practical skills will be essential.

An exciting position has become available for a Senior Community Link Worker based in our established service in West Lothian.
You will support the service manager and fellow senior in the day to day running of 2 mental health and well-being hubs, based in Bathgate and Livingston. The hubs currently operate Monday-Friday 9-5.
You will be based in one of the Hubs leading a small team of Link Workers and working positively as part of a small MDT including psychology, occupational therapy and mental health nurses.
You will also deliver and support staff to deliver psycho educational groups.

- Monitor, evaluate and improve learning delivery and resources.
- Ensure adequate records are kept under GDPR guidelines while ensuring all young people's confidentiality
- Ensure quality of service by collating and monitoring young people’s feedback.
- Contribute to developing service guidelines, policies and protocols to ensure the organisation maintains high-quality services.
- In collaboration with the Senior Recovery Facilitator and Chief Executive, set appropriate missions and goals to ensure the continued development of the service.
- Undertake other duties that may be required and commensurate with the post.

We are looking for a unique person to join our team at our dementia specific day service in Bonnyrigg. Our day services are personalised to the preferences and needs of individuals, providing therapeutic activities with a focus on maintaining skills and independence. The day services in Bonnyrigg are open Monday to Friday.
Our Support Workers are our most important people as they provide front line support. Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia. You will also have good communication skills and a caring attitude. Supporting individuals to keep connected to their communities, engage in their interests and hobbies and access peer support.
The use of a car is preferred (mileage and expenses are paid).
A willingness to learn and participate in training (including SVQ’s) and registration with the SSSC is essential. Relevant qualifications and/or experience of working with people with dementia would be an advantage.
Support Worker – Croftspar, Glasgow

The Support Worker will provide a combination of personal care, care at home and housing support to people with dementia in their own homes. The post holder will be part of a dedicated team that will ensure that the highest quality of service is provided.
The Support Worker will work 2 or 3 shifts per week with the flexibility to increase hours to meet the demands of the service. The Support Worker will work day shift, backshift, weekends and nightshift.
