Role

The Royal Society of Edinburgh, Scotland’s National Academy, is an educational charity that provides public benefit throughout Scotland through a diverse range of activity including awarding research funding, informing public policy, and delivering events across Scotland to inspire knowledge and learning. We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to help assist with the day-to-day processes within the finance team.

Working closely with, and reporting to the Financial Controller, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Process support claims including storing and checking
  • Process acceptance forms including payments
  • Review statements of expenditure
  • Maintain filing system
  • Process claims, grants, invoices through purchase ledger
  • Monitor finance accounts inbox and process emails accordingly
  • Undertake any other finance administrative tasks as required

What we are expecting from you

The successful candidate will have previous experience in financial procedures within a small organisation. Experience of using SAGE200 or similar packages, excellent attention to detail and good numerical skills is essential, experience of working with a charitable organisation is desirable
