SCVO is the national membership organisation for charities, community organisations and social enterprises throughout Scotland. We currently have over 3,500 members and that number is growing every day. We interact with organisations across the voluntary sector, beyond the membership, and passionately believe that the sector makes Scotland a better place for everyone.
Supporting Scotland’s voluntary sector to achieve its ambitions, SCVO delivers services that the sector wants and needs, giving the sector a voice at a national level, and promoting and supporting innovation and improvement.
Having recently launched our new five-year Strategic Plan, it is an exciting time to get involved with SCVO. As Convener (Chair), you will lead the Board, promoting a culture of constructive challenge, to ensure SCVO delivers against its three key strategic aims whilst also setting high governance standards.
You will have significant experience of charity governance through participation on boards and be ready to step into the role of Chair, if you have not already done so. With the ability to lead with openness, honesty, integrity and transparency and a clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, the successful candidate will also bring:
We firmly believe that a thriving voluntary sector is vital to Scotland's economy and society. We are passionate about what the voluntary sector can achieve and if you share this passion, we would love to hear from you.
