Role

Are you looking for an exciting role in the NHS charity sector?

Would you like to be part of a pro-active charity team?

Are you well motivated, forward thinking, and can adapt quickly to changing priorities?

Do you have experience in community fundraising?

If you have answered yes to the above then this opportunity may just be for you

Dumfries and Galloway Health Endowment Fund is a registered charity that supports the incredible work of our local NHS services, and we are looking for an experienced fundraising officer to help develop our charity fundraising strategy and implement active fundraising within the community.

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the management of community fundraising, individual donations and corporate activities for the wards, departments and services within NHS Dumfries and Galloway and will be an active member of the charity team.

The fundraising environment is constantly changing and the post holder will need to balance a number of conflicting demands within their day to day duties. Sensitivity, tact and empathy will be required, as fundraisers and donors will often wish to raise money for an area of the hospital which either they or a relative/friend close to them has benefitted from.

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys working as part of a small team

• Has a passion for meeting new people and building relationships in a wide variety of areas

• Has an interest in developing fundraising within the NHS

• Has an interest in developing our charity’s profile through social media and web presence, outreach, and making best use of local and national press.

• Is self-motivated and able to work on their own initiative

• Has undertaken successful fundraising campaigns through several sources such as community fundraising and individual giving; corporate donors; legacy funding; and grant funding from trusts and foundations

• Has experience of working with fundraising CRM databases

• Enjoys organising and developing events

• Has a flexible approach to working hours, as sometimes the role will require evening and weekend working.

Our Mission:

Dumfries and Galloway Health Board Endowment Fund will support the improvement of the health and wellbeing of communities in the area served by NHS Dumfries and Galloway by strategically targeting resources to areas in most need.

Our charity does not replace the NHS but is there to enhance the wonderful care our community receives. Our charity supports a number of community services across the region as well as our acute hospitals. Our charity is there to support enhancements to the care provided and enable our staff to go that extra mile.

Although your base will be Mountainhall Treatment Centre in Dumfries we do support hybrid working where appropriate.
