The Alasdair Gray Archive (AGA) was created in 2020. We are registering for a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The AGA exists to enhance the reputation and understanding of one of Scotland’s most significant artists & writers of the 20th century, and through his legacy support others to fulfil their potential within the creative sector and beyond.
This year we published our Organisational Strategy and now is the right time for us to start shaping our board. We would love to find people who share our values and who have the capacity to help us grow the AGA over the next 2 years into a progressive centre for learning and a cultural destination within Glasgow. If you reflect our values and want to work in an open, responsive and exciting way then read on!
AGA has been led by me, Sorcha Dallas, for the last 2 years. I worked closely with Alasdair for 14 years where I managed and protected his visual archive. I captured Alasdair’s vision for the posthumous management and legacy of his archive, which drives and shapes the AGA to this day. I am looking for people who can help shape the future of AGA and maximise the potential of Alasdair’s legacy and enable growth in focused, collaborative and transparent ways. We need help to embed our governance structure, policy development, setting strategic goals and helping us grow our organisation in ambition and scale. We are keen for you to tell us about yourself and in practical terms how you identify and prioritise areas that will make the most difference.
Get in touch via email, sorcha@thealasdairgrayarchive.org, by 1st November 2022 to organise a quick, informal phone chat with me, Sorcha, who will then guide you through the application form.
