The team

  • Energy Saving Trust is the lead partner in the consortium of organisations that make up Local Energy Scotland. Local Energy Scotland delivers the Scottish Government’s Community and Renewable Energy Scheme (CARES).
  • We work with community groups, charities, and faith groups to develop and deliver low carbon and renewable energy projects. Our goal is that communities across Scotland are engaging, participating, and benefiting in the energy transition to net zero.

The role

  • Energy Saving Trust requires a specialist to help ensure the successful completion of shared ownership projects.
  • As a member of Local Energy Scotland’s team, you’ll provide impartial support to stakeholders in shared ownership projects. This will mainly involve supporting communities and developers, but it will also involve Scottish Government, support organisations, project financiers and funders, professional advisors, and various other organisations.
  • Energy Saving Trust offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

What you’ll do

  • Support communities to make investments in commercial renewable energy projects to create a sustainable income that can help a community thrive.
  • Prepare and communicate key information about shared ownership, best practice, and CARES support to communities, developers, and other key stakeholders, as well as to Local Energy Scotland’s team.

What you’ll bring

  • A good understanding of energy projects, community development or financing infrastructure projects.
  • A passion for community development and empowerment.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working.
  • Enthusiasm, self-motivation, a flexible approach, and a sense of humour.

This is a permanent position. Our standard weekly hours are 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday.We are open to flexible working locations (within the UK) and as standard we offer all contracts on blended (home and office-based) working.Travel within Scotland will be required.
