Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Area Community Programme Coordinator (Food Provision) to join our dedicated teams working across The Salvation Army Churches (Corps) within Fife; Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Buckhaven, Lochgelly, Cowdenbeath and Dunfermline.

This is a brand-new role, and the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the running and development of a community food programme which is grounded in the Christian values and ethos of The Salvation Army. You will meet the food and eating needs of the communities showing care and compassion and signposting where necessary.

Duties will also include recruiting and managing a team of volunteers, ensuring that the programme is adequately resourced and managed within agreed budgets. The ability to be creative and think wholistically is essential.

The ideal candidate will have experience of:

  • customer service,
  • food handling, preparation and cooking,
  • an understanding of nutrition,
  • experience of cooking on a budget
  • a willingness to work within and be an enthusiastic advocate of our Christian ethos and values in all things.

The ability to drive and access to a car is essential as the role requires the successful candidate to travel across the Fife area.
