Role

We are looking to recruit a Sight Loss Information Worker to join the Sight Scotland Veterans team. You will provide support via the charity’s new Sight Loss Information Line service which will involve;

  • Providing veterans with sight loss, their families, carers and relevant stakeholders information and support via the information line service.
  • Provision of accessible, tailored and relevant information around sight loss and its impact.
  • Ensuring appropriate referrals into Sight Scotland Veterans via an assessment and triaging process.
  • Working alongside the Sight Scotland Veterans marketing team to raise awareness of the information line and all that Sight Scotland Veterans do to support veterans with sight loss throughout Scotland.

As a personable individual who is a natural listener and skilled communicator, you will have prior experience of supporting individuals at difficult times. You will be part of a high performing team which will lead the charity to continued success in meeting the aspirations of those who we support. Your role will involve supporting the new information line service to ensure the delivery of high-quality outcomes that make a difference to people’s lives.

If you have experience in a relevant field, have clear understanding of sight loss and the challenges people face and feel you have the skills to join this new team, then we would love to hear from you.

Where able, this role will be carried out under our blended homeworking policy, you will work from home and from either Head Office in Edinburgh or the Hawkhead Centre in Paisley. However, remote working will be considered for those located out with these areas.
