Role

Purpose of the role:WEA Scotland are looking for a dynamic, resourceful Adult Community Education worker to support and further develop our innovative adult education offer in Fife.

The Education Coordinator will focus on supporting communities and learners by developing a range of learning opportunities including:

Political Literacies

Community wealth Building

Community empowerment/ Asset Transfer etc

The successful candidate will build and develop new grass-roots connections in central Fife and in particular in SIMD areas. This work will further strengthen WEAs delivery and impact around Employability and Community Engagement.

Additional subject areas to be developed and delivered may include:

Helping the 55+ age group to campaign for better services in their local area

Promoting inter-generational learning and engagement

Promoting Social Enterprise and Community Enterprise

Assisting isolated and vulnerable learners to `rediscover` their local communities and areas following Covid / Lockdown (walks, health & wellbeing groups etc)

Literacies and confidence building (supporting Employability)

Key areas of responsibility:WEA have an exciting opportunity for an Education Coordinator supporting our work in Fife. The Education Coordinator will engage with new and existing partners and organisations in Fife and organise and develop adult community education courses.

The emphasis will be to connect with new learners in SIMD areas and organise learning opportunities that will make a real difference to learners and their communities.

About you:You will be a qualified Adult Community Education worker with a sound knowledge and understanding of the socio-economic needs of Fife communities and how to help organise learning opportunities within these communities. You will be living in Fife or the surrounding area and have your own car and a driving license.

You will have strong IT skills and have experience of online learning as well as face to face.
