Johnstone & Paisley Supported Living Initiative is registered with the Care Inspectorate to provide combined Housing Support and Care at Home to adults with a learning disability. The service currently delivers over 1100 hours of support every week to 14 individuals in their own homes. These services are delivered over three sites; Burns Drive in Johnstone, which has 6 individual self-contained flats, Brewster Avenue in Paisley where 5 people share their home, and a single tenancy in Quarriers Village providing support for one person, as well as 2 individuals who receive outreach support. The service also has an office base in Abbeymill Business Centre in Paisley.

The people who use the service have a wide range of needs including Prader Willi Syndrome, Autism, complex communication needs, dysphagia, diabetes, and epilepsy and need both practical and emotional support to live a full life within their communities.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Social Care Practitioner to become the Registered Manager of Johnstone & Paisley Supported Living Service.

The successful candidate will be supporting and leading an extensive staff team of skilled and committed individuals based over the three sites. You will be working closely with all stakeholders to develop the services, promote excellent practice and ensure that the individual outcomes for every person supported are met. The successful candidate will be required to register with the Care Inspectorate as the Registered Manager of the service and will require to have sufficient experience and qualifications to meet the criteria of a Registered Manager of a Housing Support & Care at Home Service.

Promoting people's independence and supporting people to get the most out of life by taking part in activities that matter to them were recognised as service strengths at the most recent Care Inspection. We are seeking someone who has relevant experience of leadership and a solid value base to build on these strengths and nurture the future development of the service.

This role offers excellent career development potential and the opportunity to join an experienced team of professionals who will support the successful candidate to become established in the role of Registered Manager of the service. The Registered Manager of the service is supported by five Team Leaders and a Part Time Administrator, and will be mentored by the services Operational Manager as they undertake a structured induction, as well as having access to a wide range of training and development resources.

There are two parts to manager qualification requirements. You must have a practice and a management qualification. The main qualifications are below.

Qualifications required are:

  • SVQ Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 9
  • Any award in management that is certificated at or above SCQF Level 9* (min 60 credits) and mapped against the National Occupational Standards: Leadership and Management for Care Services SCQF 10
  • SVQ Care Services Leadership and Management SCQF Level 10

The successful candidate must have a full current drivers licence and access to own transport.
