Role

The Prince’s Trust Scotland has an exciting opportunity to join our local Service Delivery team in the East of Scotland. We have ambitions to grow our offer to young people by providing a blended approach of face-to-face and digital delivery and support.

To help us on this journey we are looking for a passionate and motivated Youth Development Lead based in the Edinburgh / Lothians area to join our dynamic Casework team. This role will have a specific focus on supporting young people who want to start their own business and supporting them throughout their Prince’s Trust Enterprise journey.

This role will involve managing a caseload of young people aged 16-30 from the point of referral, throughout their journey with the Trust and into self-employment or another outcome.

You will be working directly with young people both face-to-face and online, referral and delivery partners and colleagues from other teams across the Trust. As part of the role, you will have a range of monthly targets and be required to complete set funding paperwork to ensure we can maximise our drawdown from key funding contracts.

We are looking for people who:

Are natural and effective communicators, passionate about delivering excellent customer service

Have experience in supporting young people aged 16-30 within The Prince’s Trust target groups

Ideally have some previous knowledge and experience working within the enterprise / self-employment / business sectors but this is not mandatory – full training will be provided

Have a strong understanding of the challenges young people from within The Trust’s target groups might face

Will thrive in a busy and dynamic role and are able to engage in challenges with optimism and resilience

Are able to work efficiently and effectively to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Have experience working on their own initiative to achieve individual and team objectives and targets

Have fine attention to detail and can process paperwork and computerised administration tasks in a timely and accurate manner
