Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for adults and young people of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

We are looking for Trustees to join our dedicated Board of Trustees

We are seeking motivated Trustees to help govern our growing and developing service in Moray.

Working to intersectional feminist values, we are seeking a diverse range of women with a commitment to the work we do across Moray. We are particularly interested in applicants with knowledge and experience of HR, communications and marketing, fundraising, counselling and psychotherapy, trauma-informed practice, and equality and human rights.

Aberlour is one of the largest Scottish children’s charities, celebrating 150 years helping to improve the lives of Scotland’s disadvantaged children and young people. What we are looking for....

We are looking for a qualified assessor to support SVQ assessment across the organisation.

We are approved by the SQA to deliver SVQs in Social Services (Children & Young People). To enable assessment in this award you should have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above along with your assessor award.

Your experience should include working in a relevant care setting, assessment of at least 4 candidates through to completion of their SVQ’s. You must be able to demonstrate that you have experience of planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of learning activities in a social care setting.

The post is 37.5hrs per week and will require travel across Scotland. Your work base can be flexible, we are able to support a mix of office and home working as required.

Who we are

Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s national dementia charity. Our aim is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide support and information to people with dementia, their carers and families, we campaign for the rights of people with dementia and fund vital dementia research.

What you’ll do

Our Community Activities Organisers are vital in providing front line support. This includes:

• Supporting individuals to stay connected to their local communities, engage in their interests and hobbies, and access peer support.
• Developing ideas and leading the way towards exciting and new activities to promote brain health.

Our groups are community based and the Community Activities Organiser is responsible for the planning and delivery of all activities, ensuring reflective practice through our activity evaluations and feedback from the people we support.

What you’ll have

Successful applicants will have a positive approach to dementia and brain health, with a passion to make a difference. You will have good communication and computer skills, a caring attitude and most of all enthusiasm for the role. You will be confident in planning activities in advance and leading any volunteers supporting at your group.

Applicants must have a full and valid driving license and vehicle to be able to travel for this role (mileage and expenses are paid).

MHAP is one of the longest-running independent advocacy organisations in Scotland, and we are now recruiting a new team member to help expand our individual and collective advocacy services for people experiencing mental health challenges and/or addiction issues.

We provide advocacy support to adults aged 18–65 who live in West Lothian or are receiving treatment here. Our work takes place in a range of settings, including St John’s Hospital, HMP Addiewell, and various community locations, as well as home visits when required.

Individual advocacy involves working alongside people on a one-to-one basis to ensure their voices are heard and respected. We support individuals to understand their rights, make informed decisions, and have meaningful influence over matters that affect their lives.

Collective advocacy involves working with groups of people with lived experience to explore shared concerns, identify common themes, and influence service development, policy, and decision-making at a wider level.

This is a varied and rewarding role that can make a real difference in the lives of people who may otherwise be marginalised.
