Role

Inspiring Young Voices is a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) whose objective is to enable children and young people, particularly those with additional support needs/disabilities, to have their voices heard – where and when they wish.

It supports them in raising awareness and bringing about positive changes in matters they see as important. It advises them on ensuring that their human rights are respected. It helps them to increase opportunities, improve their quality of life, and hold people to account.

The charity was established in 2000 as Highland Children’s Forum and then Highland Children and Young People’s Forum (HCYPF).

Inspiring Young Voices enables children and young people with additional support needs/disabilities to take control of their lives by promoting their rights, supporting their participation, and empowering them to have a greater say in decisions that affect their lives.

With a change of name, a renewed vision and strategic plan, and a range of new projects, Inspiring Young Voices is entering an exciting new phase and we are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual to deliver and develop the charity’s policy work.
