Role
The Prince’s Trust Scotland is currently going through an exciting period of development and expansion. Enterprise
Our Enterprise Youth Development Leads help young people aged 18-30 to learn about self-employment and to decide whether starting a business is right for them. We ensure young people have the tools and skills they need to launch their businesses through our Explore Enterprise Course and offer mentoring, workshops, 1;1 support and funding to support new entrepreneurs at every stage of their business start-up journey.
This role is perfect for you if you have skills and experience in self-employment and are passionate about supporting young entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.
Key parts of this role will include:
- Delivering workshops and training on entrepreneurship
- Providing 1-to-1 support directly to our service users
- Supporting the development of business plans and financial forecasts
- Working closely with volunteers and partner organisations to support our Young People
- Working with wider colleagues to achieve a positive outcome for service users
- Accurately completing paperwork and using our internal customer relationship management software to actively onboard and manage our Young People as well as day-to-day general administration
Health and Social Care
Our Health and Social Care Youth Development Leads support young people aged 16-30 throughout their whole Prince's Trust journey by exploring the sector through training sessions, and work in partnership with delivery partners and NHS Boards to support young people reach positive destinations within the industry. This role would be perfect for you if you have a passion for the health and social care industry, strong communication and admin skills and have experience of the NHS or Health and Social Care sector in any capacity,
Key parts of this role will include:
- Recruit, onboard and manage a caseload of young people
- Delivery of Prince's Trust's Health & Social Care project in Scotland
- Supporting young people to develop their confidence and skills, throughout programme delivery and afterwards
- Working with partners to deliver employment programmes to young people, including leading skills sessions
- Manage relationships with our referral and delivery partners, including contracts, payments, detailed delivery plans and quality assessment
- Recruitment and management of trusted partners who support and/or deliver our services
Explore and Employability
Our Explore and employability Youth Development Leads will focus on supporting young people into employment. You will ideally have a background in personal and social development and employment skills or have the experience or transferable skills to support cohorts of young people into employment. Your role will include:
- Creation and delivery of sessions to groups of young people on the Explore and Get into Programmes, focusing on personal and social development, life skills and employability skills.,
- Management of relationships with our referral and delivery partners, including contracts, payments, detailed delivery plans and quality assessment.
- Partnership and volunteer management: working with our partners to support the delivery of our programmes as well as supporting the volunteers that assist in programme delivery.

Introduction to MYDG
Muirhouse Youth Development Group was established in 1997 and has been working with young people from Muirhouse and the surrounding areas ever since. Over the past 30 years, we have built strong, trusted relationships with young people, their families, the local community, and with the high school in which we are based. We deliver a full week of activities for young people, including evening youth clubs and in-school support. MYDG works with young people aged 8–18, and we support their development through opportunities such as our Young Volunteers Programme.
Purpose of the Job
Our Youth Development Workers play a direct role in engaging and supporting young people: delivering issue-based sessions, creating safe and inclusive spaces, and ensuring that young people’s voices are heard and prioritised in decision-making—both within the organisation and in the wider community.
We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the experiences and challenges young people face in the local area, and with experience in delivering impactful group work programmes.
Role Requirements
This role requires the postholder to deliver high-quality, safe, fun, and empowering youth work activities and support services. You will be part of a small, collaborative team working to achieve key outcomes for young people, as required by our funders. The postholder should have the confidence and ability to develop, deliver, and promote a relevant and engaging youth work programme for young people of varying ages.

Young Women’s Work – Occupational Requirement
We are currently seeking to recruit a female Youth Development Worker to support our young women’s work, both within mixed settings and targeted group sessions.

YMCA-YWCA Cupar is a local charity in North East Fife working with its communities to offer a broad range of opportunities and experiences to build confidence, encourage learning, and to enhance individuals lives and well-being.
The YMCA-YWCA offers a full weekly programme of activities – youth work, adult learning, family learning and has its own youth café facility. It works closely with locally partners to deliver activity sessions and workshops, and there’s community based one-to-one support and counselling sessions available too.
The YMCA-YWCA is a member of the YMCA international young people’s movement, which has adopted its Vision 2030. This Vision is underpinned by the key pillars of Community Wellbeing, Just Work, Meaningful Work and Sustainable Planet.
This post focuses on the development of local initiatives under the ‘Sustainable Planet’ theme. The post holder will be part of a Scotland wide project, where 8 local YMCAs will employ staff to deliver community-based climate action initiatives with children, young people, adults and families. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and commences in early 2026.
As the Development Worker, you will be employed by the YMCA-YWCA Cupar and based at their headquarters at Marathon House, Bonnygate, Cupar. This is a part-time post of 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours during daytime, evenings and some weekends. The post will end 30th June 2028.
You will work within a small team of staff and volunteers. Whilst there will be a real community focus for this post, you will have opportunities to develop young people and community led activities at the YMCA-YWCA and at its outreach project, at Cupar Youth Café at Castlehill.
