Role

Engender, Scotland’s feminist policy and advocacy organisation is seeking a Policy Officer for a 16-month post. This role will focus on an analysis of available evidence on primary prevention of different forms of men’s violence. This will include forming an expert group on primary prevention, an evidence-based review of drivers and enablers of men’s violence and international approaches to primary prevention, alongside evidence-gathering from policymakers with domain-specific knowledge.

The Policy Officer will work with colleagues to develop proposals for public policy solutions that work to disrupt men’s violence before it takes place.

Main duties

  • Literature and evidence review;
  • Policy analysis;
  • Stakeholder engagement;
  • Development of a Theory of Change and policy solutions;
  • Production of a final project report.

Specific duties:

  • Work with stakeholders in the field of primary prevention of men’s violence to gather evidence and test solutions;
  • Work with consultants engaging with women who are experts by experience;
  • Convene an expert group on primary prevention of men’s violence and arrange and attend its meetings;
  • Identify and analyse key social policy areas that enable men’s violence;
  • Develop a Theory of Change for primary prevention of men’s violence.
  • Develop policy solutions that disrupt men’s violence before it takes place;
  • Provide regular progress reports and/or verbal updates for stakeholders;
  • Produce a final report for stakeholders and funders.
