We are recruiting a Professional Learning Manager and this new position presents an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping us to deliver our new 3-year strategy and future ambitions.
The Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) is the national voice of childminding in Scotland. SCMA is a national Third Sector and membership organisation that promotes childminding as a quality childcare service. Working on behalf of its 3,200 childminder members, SCMA helps to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for Scotland’s children and aims to influence policy to ensure that it is informed by the experiences of childminding. The successful applicant will contribute to the development and implementation of our CPL strategy, linked to the delivery of our wider organisational strategy. We are looking for someone who has significant experience and understanding of professional learning within an early learning/childcare environment and has the drive and enthusiasm to work with us on the next stage of our CPL journey. You will be motivated, able to forward plan, work at pace and be passionate about bringing learning to life for childminders, ensuring they have the knowledge and understanding to deliver high quality childcare.
We require a skilled communicator with a solution-focused approach and an ability to get on well with others and be a valued member of #Team SCMA.
The post is home/head office based, days to be agreed. Some travel within the central belt may be required and occasionally wider as restrictions allow. Equipment and broadband/IT connections will be provided.

The Deputy Manager has day to day operational responsibility for the delivery of the bureau’s advice service. The post holder will ensure a quality service is delivered in line with the Scottish National Standards and the Bureau’s Citizens Advice membership and will provide to the Chief Executive Officer all necessary reporting, data and case study information required.
The Deputy Manager is responsible for maintaining a disciplined, professional office working environment and ensures its compliance with the Bureau’s health, safety and other working policies, practices and procedures.
Using AdviserNet and the information systems, provide 2nd tier consultancy support to staff and volunteers on complex cases to include type 3 cases i.e. representation at tribunals. The post holder will also work as part of the Senior Management Team and will deputise for the Chief Executive Officer when required to do so.
The post requires a Basic Disclosure certificate.
