Home-Start Renfrewshire & Inverclyde is a high-profile charity, a voluntary organisation committed to supporting families in need. Volunteers are the backbone of our service and offer meaningful support, companionship, and practical help to families through a period of support in their own homes.

Currently, we are going through a period of exceptional growth and are looking for a creative, driven, experienced and inspiring individual to continue to lead the organisation through this exciting phase.

Experience of working with children and/or families is essential, as is experience of working in a management position within the charity and/or social enterprise sector. You will have an experience of setting, controlling, and managing organisational budgets and a history of facilitating the delivery of excellent services, strategic planning, enhancing funding strategies and developing excellent relationships and each member of the team.

What we would like you to bring to us:

  • Leadership, development, and be able to implement and manage successful projects
  • A proven track record in setting strategy and working with a Governing Body to develop 5-year business plans, showing evidence of successfully using your skills to transform strategic visions into reality.
  • Sound judgement, influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to represent the organisation to a broad range of stakeholders locally, regionally, and nationally.

Key Responsibilities Snapshot (please see job description for comprehensive list of responsibilities):

  • Management of and taking ultimate responsibility for the work of the scheme
  • Reporting to and supporting the Board of Trustees to ensure effective strategic management and development
  • Supporting the Board of Trustees by taking the lead in applying for and securing core funding for the scheme
  • Provide leadership and management to the team
  • Ensure that all aspects of staff recruitment, development and training, supervision, grievance, and appraisal procedures are developed and conducted in accordance with accepted good practice and in line with Home Start UK Policies.
  • Having lead responsibility for Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all Home-Start policies and procedures are implemented and reviewed.
  • Ensure effective administration and financial systems are in place.
