“When Adam arrived at the door, Dawn (Euan’s mum) was distraught. She said the week had been a disaster. Euan had been extremely distressed at school, had withdrawn into himself and was not able to go out for their usual session. Whilst Adam chatted to Dawn about the ‘adventure’ he had planned, Euan slowly crept down the stairs and Adam handed him a bag of duck food, just in case. Adam suggested they go out and if Euan wasn’t happy, they would come straight home. Two hours later, after they had explored the wood and were settled by the riverbank to eat lunch, Euan turned to Adam and said, “This is a good day”. And it was.”
