Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Stirling Students’ Union as Communications, Marketing & Events Coordinator to develop and lead in the delivery of the Union’s communications and marketing plans. Take lead responsibility for the Union’s website, digital and social media communication and events. Increase student engagement in our online and social media platforms, helping to ensure accessible, vibrant and student-centred information promotions, campaigns and events working closely with the Digital Marketing Assistant and relevant Union Officers and Staff.

About You

We’re looking for a talented and passionate individual to join our Membership Services division. You’ll be driven, using your initiative to support a wide range of organisational initiatives, programmes and projects. Specific duties of the role include:

  • Coordinate communication from, and promotion of, all areas of Union services and programmes
  • Lead on the management and development of the Union’s website & content management system
  • Lead on Digital Accessibility across the organisation, supporting the delivery of the E, D & I Strategy
  • Coordinate the delivery of Officer content and campaign activity across all Union communication channels
  • Lead on the use, development, analysis of and evaluate the impact of all social media channels and website
  • Develop and deliver training for staff & students on website/communications/social media & events
  • Develop and keep up to date with new communication channels/methods
  • Act as staff lead on organising & promoting all Union events, delivering on time and within budget – e.g., Freshers Week, Elections, Awards Balls and experiential campaigns
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to facilitate and promote in-house entertainment programmes and student-led events
  • Work closely with the Commercial Manager to develop online services, including but limited to – online Union shop and POS applications
  • Recruit, train and manage the F Team volunteers for Freshers Week/Union events
  • Lead on the creation and coordination of digital and print publications and informational materials
  • Ensure the development & implementation of the Union brand
  • Generate marketing, advertising and sponsorship income through digital and traditional means, according to budget forecasts
