An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the University of Stirling Students’ Union as Sports Development Coordinator to plan, coordinate and deliver comprehensive sports development programmes, in conjunction with the Sports President. You will manage and develop the Sports Administrator. You will also support sports union members, with particular focus but not exclusively, in the areas of Club Development, Participation, Health and Wellbeing and Finance & Funding in line with our vision to ‘Make Students Lives Better’.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is Stirling Students’ Union’s lead staff position overseeing active student engagement and influence. It will oversee our work in delivering high quality, informed student influence, democracy and change. It will lead key activity that builds trust in the students’ union’s ability to effectively represent student voice at all levels of the university and community. Overseeing Representation, Democracy, Sustainability and Advice, the position will be crucial in helping students shape our direction and presenting solutions to decision makers on campus.
The role will lead the Students’ Union in supporting and developing a strong programme of academic representation and support, maximising opportunities to grow trust in collective decision-making. The position is key to building confidence within the student body and the University.
You will lead a team whose collective role is to empower students and help them get the most out of their time at Stirling as well as influencing policies and strategies that help students shape the classroom and environment. Working with relevant colleagues, you will effectively communicate this to members, building the Students’ Union’s reputation as an evidence-based,influential organisation that adds value to students and the University.
The role supports elected officers to effectively enact their annual objectives, securing positive change on campus, in the Union and the local community.
This role will also join the Union’s Senior Management Team, contributing to the overall cultures and strategic direction of the charity.

The Students' Union is entering a period of significant change as we look to build strong foundations and look to do things differently. A new strategic plan will be launched later in 2023 which will help shape our influence on campus and how we better support students.
To support us in this we are recruiting for an External Trustee to join our Board.
As a Trustee we want you to bring your passion, energy and ideas to making us a better students' union. Primarily this will be by engaging in the strategic oversight of our activities and organisational performance, challenging us to innovate and bringing your expertise suggesting how we can change.
You will join a team of others, each with a unique outlook on the world. Our aim is to have a diversity of thought, experience and background across all Trustees as we firmly believe that diverse boards make better decisions

The role of a Trustee is voluntary with all reasonable expenses reimbursed. A typical year includes attending four in-person Trustee Board meetings (either full morning or afternoon) as well as supporting one of our sub-committees up to four times per year.
The University of Stirling Students’ Union is offering an exciting opportunity to join our staff team. We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person to be the service lead for the advocacy service which provides non-directive advice and support to University of Stirling students. Key elements include the coordination of the casework team and providing professional, confidential individual student support and representation. The role will deliver specialist assistance and representation on student academic matters but also support student enquiries on mental health, housing and inclusion. The post plays a pivotal role in student representation and university partnership working, as it uses local and national data to identify trends to influence change.
Main duties will include:
The hours of work will be 35 per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (the post is permanent for 50 weeks per year).

Key elements of this role will be to help develop the Union’s social media presence, generate digital advertising revenue, create digital assets and work with Officers on digital aspects of campaigns.
