Role
Home-Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is a vibrant community charity making a big impact on families in the local area. Our trained volunteers and staff help families with young children through challenging times. In Scotland, over 1500 volunteers support over 3500 families and nearly 6500 children each year through compassionate, confidential help to parents when they need us most.
The parents we support are often overwhelmed and may be experiencing challenges in their everyday lives such as with loneliness and isolation, poor mental health, illness, disability, multiple birth, poverty, domestic abuse, separation, or trauma. We provide both 1:1 (in person and online if preferred) support to families in their home and community, and groups if more suitable.
We are now looking to welcome a new Family Support Worker to our North Glasgow Team who are based in our Maryhill office. (Currently home-working due to COVID-19/hybrid working arrangement being considered). The successful candidate will provide tailored support to families in their own homes, as well as supporting volunteers to work alongside families.
The role is initially funded for one year.
Key responsibilities -
- An understanding of the needs of children and families
- Relevant experience of working alongside families with young children and babies experiencing challenges/trauma
- Experience of working in partnership with both statutory services and third sector
- Good working knowledge of child protection and child development
- Supporting volunteers
- Experience of delivering training
- Good IT skills
- The ability to supervise and support a caseload of families and volunteers
- Driving licence and own car required.

About Options Fife Continuing Care
At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. Our Options Fife Continuing Care service in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.
This service will be home to 4 young people aged 16 plus who will all have their own individual flat. Our rota has been drafted to suit the needs of the young people.
What we are looking for....
We are looking for a full time (37.5 hours, working 3 x 12.5 hour shifts per week) Young People’s Worker to join our team. You will play a fundamental role in our young people’s lives to ensure that they get the best possible experience whilst working towards goals in their care plan. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical and emotional care, supporting our young people in their daily living and within the local community.
If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ3 Care plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.

Family Mediation West provides support to families affected by separation, divorce, and conflict. We have premises in Glasgow and Kilmarnock allowing us to offer services across the West of Scotland. We are affiliated to Relationship Scotland, who support a national network of 21 local service providers for individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship breakdown. The values and the standards of the organisation help to ensure effective support can be provided to help families through difficult times.
We are seeking an administrator, with experience, to support a broad range of administration tasks within a family conciliation service. Full support and training will be given for this role within both the service provisions well as all our operational systems. FM West operations largely deal with service users, their family solicitors, and the Scottish Court system. The role may suit a candidate well that has experience of administration within a legal, charity, social work, or child services background. There is full training on operations available, and the opportunity to work alongside our current administrators who will provide personalised 1-2-1 on the job support to the successful candidate.

What we are looking for....
We are looking for a qualified assessor to support SVQ assessment across the organisation.
We are approved by the SQA to deliver SVQs in Social Services (Children & Young People). To enable assessment in this award you should have a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above along with your assessor award.
Your experience should include working in a relevant care setting, assessment of at least 4 candidates through to completion of their SVQ’s. You must be able to demonstrate that you have experience of planning, preparation, delivery and evaluation of learning activities in a social care setting.
The post is 37.5hrs per week and will require travel across Scotland. Your work base can be flexible, we are able to support a mix of office and home working as required.
