Role

Are you an engaging and credible self-starter who can inspire and mobilise people? You could be the ideal person to help us deliver our campaign objectives and recruit new supporters making a real difference to animal welfare.

We are seeking to expand our team in Scotland to support our campaign activities. For the past few years we have developed a support structure to help the organisation become a more effective campaigning force and help realise a better future for animals.

In this role you will support the REVIVE, a coalition of like-minded organisations working for grouse moor reform in Scotland, of which the League is a founding member. It is made up by animal welfare, environmental and social justice organisations collaboratively to end the circle of destruction of grouse shooting.

You will recruit, develop and mobilise an effective campaign network of members, supporters and volunteers across Scotland.

You will support League Scotland in developing and delivering powerful, creative and outcome driven campaigns at a local and a national level, creating campaigns materials, organising associated events and managing volunteers.

As part of this role, you will be a spokesperson for the League; liaise with key stakeholders as appropriate, including politicians, decision-makers and relevant organisations to deliver joined up national campaigns; and you will create and deliver appropriate training material as required.

Able to motivate and influence others, with an understanding of the Scottish political landscape, you will have proven experience in campaigns or communications with an understanding of campaigning best practices. You will ideally have experience of digital/social media communication and of planning and running public events and experience in the animal charity, social justice or environmental sector would be an advantage.

Our benefits include generous holiday entitlement, excellent pension scheme, discounts on shopping and cinema, and most importantly working with a passionate team committed to animal welfare.

The League Against Cruel Sports is Britain’s leading charity working towards a kinder society where persecuting animals for ‘sport’ is in the past.

Redefining what is acceptable and inspiring change, we were instrumental in helping bring about the landmark Hunting Act (2004). Driven by compassion and empowered by knowledge, we manage sanctuaries to protect wildlife, carry out investigations to expose law-breaking and cruelty to animals, and campaign for stronger animal protection laws and penalties.

United, we will end animal cruelty in the name of ‘sport’.
