The Conservation Volunteers – The Community Volunteering Charity
Every day TCV works across the UK to create healthier and happier communities for everyone - communities where our activities have a lasting impact on people’s health, prospects and outdoor places.
Are you looking for an opportunity to put your energies into dealing with the climate and ecological crises and make your mark?
Here is an exciting chance to be part of The Clyde Climate Forest (CCF) - an ambitious high-profile initiative which aims to see 18 million trees planted in Glasgow City Region (GCR) over the next decade. The CCF aims to increase woodland land cover - helping to sequester carbon emissions, connect woodland habitats - helping wildlife cope with a changing climate, and increase urban tree canopy - helping people to adapt to heatwaves and cloudburst events.
The CCF is a collaboration between several delivery partner organisations (TCV, Trees for Cities, Woodland Trust Scotland, Green Action Trust), Scottish Forestry and the councils that comprise the GCR Partnership.
We need somebody who is looking for an opportunity to display their drive, ingenuity, and creativity by developing processes, promotions and proposals that will attract new resources and commitment for tree planting projects in line with CCF aims.
You will be a vital member in the CCF team working within TCV alongside the other partner organisations and with the support of the CCF Steering Group and Programme Board.
You will take the lead on the ‘Connectivity’ strand of the CCF, working with landowners, farmers, council officers, and others to bring forward woodland creation projects in locations which connect existing woodland habitat networks. You will also develop work for the ‘Canopy’ and ‘Carbon’ strands of the CCF lead by other team members.
You will need to be commercially astute, confident, and able to work autonomously and have experience of developing successful relationships, delivering successful initiatives, and developing business opportunities.
A full driving licence is required.
This post is subject to a CRC check.
