Our delivery methodology is based on collaboration, involvement and co-production with families, agencies, and communities to meet individual needs/outcomes, create capacity/resilience and keep families together (preventing breakdown). Families may present a range of complex issues and needs e.g., poor parenting capacity/skills, parental mental health, addiction, learning disability, poverty/disadvantage, intergenerational issues/cycle of Adverse Childhood Experiences.

We will achieve and retain a clear focus on the following key outcomes throughout the service to improve children's safety and welfare:

  • Reduced risk of harm e.g., domestic violence, substance misuse, crime
  • Improved pro-social behaviour
  • Improved parenting skills and capacity
  • Reduced risk of family/placement breakdown
  • Improved health and wellbeing
  • Improved family relationships and functioning
  • Improved ambition and achievement
  • Improved routines and boundaries to improve family life
  • Improved confidence, social inclusion and community involvement.

As a Family Support Practitioner, you'll be:

  • Identifying the needs of families and working with them to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Using a holistic approach and working with the family as a whole.
  • Working collaboratively with closely with other key partner agencies.

What You'll Bring:

Our job description for the Family Support Practitioner outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are:

  • HNC in Social Care/SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to maintain written records to a high standard.

Working here is so much more than a job. Whether this is a career change for you or the next step in your journey, we'd love to hear from you.

We work together to reach our vision of safe and happy childhoods. A diverse workforce enriches the lives of the children and young people we work with and we welcome applications from everyone. We value and celebrate our differences and as an inclusive workplace we want everyone to be themselves.

We are committed to safer recruitment practices to protect our service users; therefore, all applicants are expected to have an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding best-practice.
