Established in 1960, ENABLE Glasgow’s Fortune Works is a social enterprise which provides meaningful opportunities for people with a learning disability within Glasgow and surrounding areas. Based primarily in the Drumchapel area, the service combines accessible social and enterprising activities and offers individualised support for people to make a positive contribution to their community.
Fortune Works ‘Growing Together Project’ aims to expand its therapeutic horticulture service enabling individuals with learning disabilities to have increased access to its garden service activities. Your role will involve supporting service users to maintain and develop the existing garden centre and green services. You will assist in providing a high quality of care and support for service users with a range of learning disabilities and encourage their participation in group activities. This will include supporting service users in the delivery of Learning Disability Awareness and Hate Crime training to other agencies, schools, colleges, local businesses’, community groups and the general public.
In addition you will help support the Growing Together Project’s delivery of the Caley Award, a Grow and Learn Project which has a horticultural award scheme that recognises individual progress and achievement through experiential learning and personal development.
