Role

Do you want to join an ambitious organisation committed to making an impact on the environment? We are looking for an experienced leader to manage our Community Engagement and Energy Advice Services Team and drive our work to tackle the climate emergency and alleviate fuel poverty.

About you

We need a leader passionate about community engagement, delivering quality service and motivating a highly skilled team to achieve demanding targets. You will have proven experience in developing, trialling and evaluating place-based solutions and are adept at building effective strategic partnerships, and nurturing funder relationships.

You successfully lead high-performing teams, and are adept at planning and people management, and collaboration. You will have excellent communication skills at senior management, external stakeholder and employee levels. A sound knowledge of the community engagement sector and of working in a grant-funded context is critical.

About the role

Our newly-formed Community Engagement and Energy Advice Services Team brings together two established teams to deliver place-based solutions, effective energy advice and volunteering support. The team will support Changeworks in our goal to contribute significantly to the decarbonisation of Scotland’s homes and tackle the climate emergency and fuel poverty at this crucial time.

The Head of Community Engagement and Energy Advice Service is responsible for developing and delivering our community engagement programmes and a number of grant-funded services aimed at reducing fuel poverty across Scotland. You will ensure all targets, performance measures and reporting requirements are successfully met. As we grow, you will accept into your portfolio, bed-in and scale, newly developed services.

This is a senior and strategically important role within Changeworks and the Head of Community Engagement and Energy Advice will report to Changeworks’ Operations Director.
