Do you want to make a difference in people’s lives, play a role in improving the lives of others in the Wellhouse and Greater Easterhouse area? If the answer is “YES” then volunteering as a Management Committee member with us might be the thing for you!

Our Strategic Objectives

To ensure we stay focused on transforming our business and making the social impact we seek, we have developed a set of 6 strategic objectives for the Business Plan period. From these objectives, all our activities will flow. We also measure our success by setting targets against these objectives, ensuring that we deliver them effectively and efficiently. The six objectives are to:-

1. Deliver excellent services.

2. Provide good quality homes.

3. Anticipate, understand and respond to local needs.

4. Foster an attractive, successful and thriving community.

5. Maintain good governance and financial management.

6. Value and invest in our people.

To build on our current strengths, we are recruiting new members to our Management Committee who have a particular interest in the Wellhouse and Greater Easterhouse area of Glasgow and the social housing sector as a whole who will strengthen our leadership in achieving the best for our tenants. We are looking for individuals with the interest, skills and commitment to help Wellhouse Housing Association achieve its objectives. We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with knowledge and skills in the following areas:

• Finance

• All aspects of housing development

• Legal

• Community development/ wider role

What can we offer?

Although Management Committee work is unpaid, we will reimburse out of pocket expenses, including care and travelling costs. We also provide induction training as well as supporting ongoing personal development. The main reward though is knowing that you are part of a team that is helping to improve the lives of others.

Your commitment

You will need to commit to attending around ten Management Committee meetings per year and other ad hoc meetings as required. These meetings are usually held in the early evening [6 pm till 8 pm] on the last Thursday of each month. In addition, you will be expected to take part in annual skills development and training provided by the Association to support you in your role as a Management Committee member.
